Stand up for Labour returns to Shipley for a General Election fundraiser that includes three of our favourite acts.
Taking place at Caroline Street Social Club, Caroline Street, Shipley BD18 3JZ, the night features:
Kevin Dewsbury is an award-winning stand-up comedian, actor and recent Panto Dame who has gone down a storm at Stand up for Labour events in Blackpool< Bolton and Doncaster.
Kate Fox is an hilarious stand-up poet who has been compared with the late Victoria Wood for her skillful use of rhyme. Kate regularly appears on Radio 4 and was a bit hit with audiences at Stand up for Labour's events in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Shildon, Middlesbrough, Bolton, Manchester, Blackpool, Sedgefield and Consett.
Cabinet of Millionaires front man Pat Fulgoni has sung across a wide range of genres from blues to festival dub, jazz to psychedelia. Most recently he has been flexing his vocal muscle with festival headlining drum and bass artists.
Smug Roberts is not only an accomplished comedian but has also acted in a number of roles for top TV shows (including ‘Coronation Street’ and films (‘Phoenix Nights’, ‘Cold Feet’, ‘Looking for Eric’, ‘24 Hour Party People’). He has been a hit with Stand up for Labour audiences in Keele, Blackpool, Bolton, Southport, Shrewsbury, Stafford and Manchester.
Hosting this incredible line up is Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour and has now organised over 250 shows in six years. Crispin was once a runner-up at the prestigious Hackney Empire New Acts competition and went on to appear on Paramount Comedy Channel’s ‘The World Stands Up’. He has also appeared on ‘Daily Politics’ and ran the ‘#JC4PM’ variety tour.
The night also features liquid prizes and a raffle.
