THE TINGE TOUR - Enfield North, Sunday 26th May, 7:30pm (Earlybird ticket)
The second date of The Tinge Tour
8 in stock.
Stand up for Labour puts on a special show for Enfield North CLP.
Taking place at Enfield Town Football Club, the night is the second leg of the 'Tinge Tour' (aimed at raising morale and funds in constituencies where the MP jumped ship).
Ian Saville is the only Socialist Magician in the Magic Circle. Ian has been performing political fundraisers for over 30 years and combines magic with comedy and ventriloquism. Expect the unexpected!
Juliet Meyers is one of stand-up comedy's best storyteller and her act has gone down a storm at Stand up for Labour shows in Bath, Sevenoaks, Banbury, Loughborough, Kingston, Chiswick, Birmingham, Coventry, Derby, Salisbury, Buxton, Bolton, Ipswich and Stafford.
Arnold Brown was one of the first performers at the Comedy Store (see Alexei Sayle) and was also a regular feature in cult TV show 'The Young Ones'. He was also a warm up act for Frank Sinatra! His comedy style is unique and has been a big hit with Labour Party audiences in Chiswick, Corby, Brighton, Swadlincote, Doncaster, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverclyde.
Alexei Sayle was instrumental in revolutionising stand-up comedy. As the first MC at the Comedy Store, where he introduced acts such as Rik Mayall, Ade Edmonson, Nigel Planer as well as French and Saunders, he reinvigorated comedy and made stand-up into the new Rock & Roll. As a result of this, the unimaginative, ignorant, racist and sexist comedy lost all credibility.
The popularity of the new 'Alternative Comedy' led to Alexei Sayle appearing as a regular character in 'The Young Ones' and an appearance on Top of the Pops, where his song 'Ullo John! Gotta New Motor?' had reached number 15 in the charts. He was also a key performer in 'Comic Strip Presents', notably in 'The Strike'. He has subsequently appeared as an actor in 'The Tempest' at the Old Vic (directed by Jonathan Miller) and in the Hollywood blockbuster, 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'.
He has had his own BBC shows ('Alexei Sayle's Stuff', 'The All New Alexei Sayle Show' and 'Alexei Sayle's Merry-Go-Round'), and has written two short story collections and five novels.
He is making his first appearance at a Stand up for Labour show.
The night is hosted by Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour in 2013 and has now organised over 250 shows for CLPs in England, Scotland and Wales. His support for Jeremy Corbyn saw him also play a pivotal role in the #JC4PM tour. He is a former runner up in the prestigious Hackney Empire New Acts of the Year competition.
The night also includes liquid prizes and a raffle.
Tickets are £10 if bought before 10th May/£12 in advance/£15 on the door.
