Stand up for Labour - Stafford, Thursday 11th April, 7:30pm (earlybird)
A fantastic comedy line up headlined by Red Dwarf's Norman Lovett
Stand up for Labour returns to Stafford for a joint fundraiser for Stone and Stafford CLPs at The Royal Oak (Rising Brook, Wolverhampton Rd, Stafford ST17 9DH).
The night features three of our favourite acts:
Njambi McGrath recently won the prestigious New Act of the Year (NATY) award at the Hackney Empire. Her political and satirical humour went down a storm at her first Stand up for Labour show in Stevenage in February.
Smug Roberts is not only an accomplished comedian but has also acted in a number of roles for top TV shows (including ‘Coronation Street’ and films (‘Phoenix Nights’, ‘Cold Feet’, ‘Looking for Eric’, ‘24 Hour Party People’). He has been a hit with Stand up for Labour audiences in Keele, Blackpool, Bolton, Southport and Manchester.
Norman Lovett is one of the most influential comedians in the country, who has developed his own style of comedy since the 1970s. He once warmed up for Punk band ‘The Clash’ and is well known for appearing as ‘Holly’ in cult TV sitcom ‘Red Dwarf’. He has gone down a storm with Labour Party audiences and is the Stand up for Labour Act of the Year.
Hosting this incredible line up is Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour and has now organised over 250 shows in six years. Crispin was once a runner-up at the prestigious Hackney Empire New Acts competition and went on to appear on Paramount Comedy Channel’s ‘The World Stands Up’. He has also appeared on ‘Daily Politics’ and ran the ‘#JC4PM’ variety tour.
The night also features liquid prizes and a raffle.
Tickets cost £10 if bought before 1st April/£12 in advance/£15 on the door.
