Stand up for Labour - Stoke

Stoke 2019 facebookStand up for Labour returns to Stoke for a special show sponsored by Unite the Union.

Taking place at Weston Coyney Village Hall (Princess Drive, Stoke-on-Trent ST3 6NQ), the night is a fundraiser for Stoke South Labour Party and features three fantastic acts.

Gerry Potter, a formidable novelist, playwright and poet, whose use of language and performance captivate and leave us all in awe. His appearance at Stand up for Labour's show at the party conference was one of the highlights of last year.

Lindsey Santoro hails from Birmingham (but don’t hold that against her). She recounts tales of her misadventures in life, all in her trademark down to earth, side-splitting style.

Joe Solo is a thought-provoking, punch-the-air political singer-songwriter. On top of releasing seventeen albums since 2004, Joe helped create WE SHALL OVERCOME, a campaign pushing for a positive response from the music community to the poverty and hardship inflicted on ordinary people by the government’s austerity program. Since October 2015 the movement has organised more than 1,000 gigs, raising an estimated £425,000 in cash, food, clothing and bedding for those hardest hit.

Hosting this incredible line up is Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour and has now organised over 250 shows in six years. Crispin was once a runner-up at the prestigious Hackney Empire New Acts competition and went on to appear on Paramount Comedy Channel’s ‘The World Stands Up’. He has also appeared on ‘Daily Politics’ and ran the ‘#JC4PM’ variety tour.

The night also features liquid prizes and a raffle.

Tickets cost £12 in advance/£15 on the door.
