Stand up for Labour is putting on a fantastic variety show for Brighton & Hove Labour Party in the run up to the council elections in May.

Taking place at the Brighthelm Centre (North Road, Brighton BN1 1YD), the night features:

Artist Taxi Driver is the country’s most prolific video blogger and has built up a massive online following. His daily news bulletins are a perfect counter to media bias.

Gerry Potter, a formidable novelist, playwright and poet, whose use of language and performance captivate and leave us all in awe.

Joanna Neary is an accomplished actress as well as stand-up comedian and has a long list of TV credits to her name. ‘A Joyce Grenfell of our age’, The Guardian.

Katherine Atkinson is one of the new wave of Brighton stand-up comedians. ‘A comedian so deadpan she makes Jack Dee look like Timmy Mallett.’ Chortle.

Robb Johnson has built up a reputation as one of the country’s leading folk singers and not only wrote Tony Benn’s favourite song, but also the catchy ‘JC4PM for me’.

Theresa May Cabaret has had Labour audiences in hysterics since her first Stand up for Labour appearance in the PM’s constituency of Maidenhead.

Hosting this incredible line up is Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour and has now organised over 250 shows in six years. Crispin was once a runner-up at the prestigious Hackney Empire New Acts competition and went on to appear on Paramount Comedy Channel’s ‘The World Stands Up’. He has also appeared on ‘Daily Politics’ and ran the ‘#JC4PM’ variety tour.

The night also includes liquid prizes and a raffle. And there will be plenty of time to catch up with friends.

Tickets cost £15 in advance/£20 on the door. [Buy tickets here]
