Stand up for Labour - Bolton
Stand up for Labour returns to Bolton West in a special sponsored show by Unite the Union.
This is our fifth fundraiser for Bolton West CLP at the Horwich RMI (2 Ramsbottom Road, Horwich, Bolton BL6 5NH).
Steve Day, the UK's only deaf comedian, is a familiar voice on Radio 4 and has appeared many times on 'You and Yours'. His intelligent and mischievious sense of humour has gone down a storm at Stand up for Labour shows in Watford, London, Northampton, Stoke, Burton, Wolverhampton, Brighton, Leek, Keele, Yardley, Tamworth, Smethwick, Erdington, Kettering, Mablethorpe, Upton-upon-Severn, Corby, St Albans, Nottingham and Crewe.
Clare Ferguson Walker is a stand-up comedian and poet, who recently toured with John Cooper-Clarke). She was a stand-out performer during the #JC4PM tour that attracted thousands of people during 2016, where her poem for Jeremy Corbyn went down a storm. She made her Stand up for Labour debut last year in Woking.
Headlining the show is top comedian, actor and TV/radio regular Justin Moorhouse. Justin's acting includes appearing in Peter Kay's 'Phoenix Nights', Ken Loach's film, 'Looking for Eric', 'Still Open All Hours' and 'Coronation Street'. His comedy career started when he won a local comedy competition held at the Southern pub in Chorlton and he has since gone on to appear in 'Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow'. He brought the house down at his first Stand up for Labour show in Leek last September.
The show is hosted by Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour in 2012 and has now put on over 250 shows for CLPs all over the country. Before you ask, he is a third cousin of Andrew Flintoff (but he has no aspirations to be a property developer).
The night also includes liquid prizes and a raffle.
Tickets cost £12 in advance or £15 on the door
