Stand up for Labour - Falmouth
Stand up for Labour holds its first show in Falmouth for Truro & Falmouth Labour Party.
Taking place at Falmouth Watersports Centre (The Boat Park, Grove Place, Falmouth TR11 4AU), the night features two of the best comedians on the south-west comedy circuit and headline act Norman Lovett.
David Arnold is a loveable Welshman who never fails to deliver a well-rounded and polished performance that has his audience laughing throughout. He is fast developing a reputation as one of the South Wests' brightest talents and is one not to be missed.
Kerry Cassidy is a Cornish trade unionist and Labour activist from the South East Cornwall CLP. A train driver and union rep for ASLEF during the day she has a comedian alter ego that performs throughout London and the South West at night.
Norman Lovett is one of the most influential comedians in the country, who has developed his own style of comedy since the 1970s. He once warmed up for Punk band ‘The Clash’ and is well known for appearing as ‘Holly’ in cult TV sitcom ‘Red Dwarf’. He has gone down a storm with Labour Party audiences and is the Stand up for Labour Act of the Year.
The night is hosted by Crispin Flintoff, former runner up in the Hackney Empire New Acts competition, who set up Stand up for Labour in 2012 to raise morale for the Labour Party, he has now organised over 250 shows in England, Scotland and Wales. Third cousin of the cricketer Andrew Flintoff.
The night also includes liquid prizes and a raffle.
Tickets cost £10 if bought before 12 November/£12 in advance/£15 on the door.
