Stand up for Labour - North Norfolk
Stand up for Labour returns to North Norfolk to the North Walsham Community Centre (New Road, North Walsham NR28 9DE) for a Christmas fundraiser sponsored by the FBU.
Opening act Owen Evans was raised in Cromer and attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. As well as appearing in numerous acting roles, he is one half of the much loved sketch duo, Nimmo Twins, who are best known for their show ‘Normal for Norfolk’.
Delphi Newman is a talented singer-songwriter who was part of the acclaimed Norwich-based post-punk collective, Vital Disorders, and heads undercover rock band The Agents of Play.
Arthur Smith is one of comedy’s elder statesmen: an Edinburgh Fringe stalwart and performer since the early days of the alternative scene. His distinctive voice is regularly heard on Radio 4 and he has made regular appearances on TV in such shows as ‘QI’ and ‘Have I Got News for You’. His acting credits include ‘Red Dwarf’ and ‘Filthy Rich and Catflap’.
The night is hosted by Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour in 2012 as a way to raise money for Labour constiuency parties, Crispin was formerly a stand-up comedian who was runner-up in the prestigious Hackney Empire New Acts Final and appeared on Paramount’s comedy channel.
The night also includes liquid prizes and a raffle. There may also be a mince pie or two.
Tickets cost £12 from 1 December and £15 on the door.
