Stand up for Labour had an event planned months before the Euro Referendum at the George IV in Chiswick. The idea behind the event was to replenish supporters after a long campaign either campaigning in the local (Mayoral) elections or on the EU referendum.
As it turned out, the event also co-incided with an upheaval within the Parliamentary Party as dozens of MPs resigned after the EU referendum and a vote of no confidence was given against the Labour Party leader.
There was a lot of uncertainty about what was going on at the time so it was no surprise that tickets were sold out for the night - not least because John McDonnell, the Shadow Chancellor, was speaking.
John McDonnell's speech was recorded by Paul Merron and received thousands of hits.
