Stand up for Labour - Leek, 20th September, earlybird tickets
A fantastic line up headlined by Arthur Smith
Stand up for Labour holds its first event for Leek Labour Party at the Foxlowe Arts Centre (Market Place, Leek, Staffs ST13 6AD), featuring three fantastic comedians and headlined by the one and only Arthur Smith.
Opening act Steve Day is the country's only deaf comedian and has been performing at the UK's top comedy clubs for over 15 years. His mix of anecdotes and gags has made him a favourite of Stand up for Labour audiences.
Theresa May Cabaret is a relatively new act on the circuit, who has gone down a storm at Stand up for Labour shows in Bournemouth, Manchester, Ipswich and Theresa May's own constituency, Maidenhead. Her comic burlesque act is hilarious and shocking at the same time.
Arthur Smith has appeared on almost every chat show and panel show on radio and TV and is not only a great comedian but an accomplished playwright. Arthur featured in Stand up for Labour's first ever show back in 2012 and has since appeared at Stand up for Labour in over 20 consituencies in the country.
Hosting this incredible line up is Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour and has now organised over 250 shows in six years. Crispin was once a runner-up at the prestigious Hackney Empire New Acts competition and went on to appear on Paramount Comedy Channel's 'The World Stands Up'. He has also appeared on 'Daily Politics' and ran the '#JC4PM' variety tour.
The evening also features a raffle and liquid prizes.
Tickets are £14 in advance and £15 if bought on the door.
