Stand up for Labour - Bishop Auckland, 19 July, 7:30pm - advanced tickets
A top night out featuring stand-up comedy, stand-up poetry and magic
Stand up for Labour is pleased to hold its first show for Bishop Auckland CLP.
Taking place at Shildon Railway Institute (478 Redworth Road, Shildon, County Durham, DL4 2JJ), the night features three fantastic acts.
John Scott has been performing political stand-up comedy in the north-east for many years and has made a great success of his club 'Sod the Tories' at the Stand in Newcastle. John has appeared at Stand up for Labour in Carlisle and was also a crowd favourite at the '#JC4PM' gig in Newcastle.
Kate Fox is an hilarious stand-up poet who has been compared with the late Victoria Wood for her skillful use of rhyme. Kate regularly appears on Radio 4 and was a bit hit with audiences at Stand up for Labour's events in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Bolton, Manchester and Blackpool.
Ian Saville is the only Socialist Magician in the Magic Circle. Ian has been performing political fundraisers for over 30 years and combines magic with comedy and ventriloquism. Expect the unexpected!
The night is compered by Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour in 2012 and has now organised over 200 gigs for Labour Party groups all over England, Scotland and Wales. Crispin was formerly a runner-up in the prestigious Hackney Empire New Acts competition and went on to feature in Paramount Comedy Channel's 'The World Stands Up'. The night also features liquid prizes and a raffle.
