Stand up for Labour - Kensington, 14 December (earlybird tickets)
A fantastic line up in support of Kensington Labour Party
Stand up for Labour holds an event to raise money for Kensington CLP's local election campaign. Taking place at Westbank (3-5 Thorpe Cl, London W10 5XL), the night features three fantastic acts as well as guest speakers.
Arthur Smith is known as a ‘Grumpy Old Man’ but he has brought joy to many Labour supporters in the past five years, including at the first ever Stand up for Labour in July 2012. Comedy legend Arthur has appeared on every TV show you can think of and is also an accomplished writer and playwright.
Ava Vidal is a familiar face on most topical current affairs programmes (Newsnight, This Week, Daybreak and ITN News). As a comedian, she has appeared on Mock the Week and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.
Attila the Stockbroker was launched into public consciousness by Radio One DJ John Peel in 1982/83, and he has spent 35 years touring the world, performing well over 3,000 gigs in 24 countries and releasing 40 LPs/EPs/CDs and seven books of poetry.
The night is hosted by Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour in 2012 and has organised over 200 events for Labour Party CLPs across England, Scotland and Wales. Crispin was also a former runner up in the prestigious Hackney Empire New Acts of the Year competition and is standing as a candidate in this year's council election in Kensington and Chelsea.
The night also includes liquid prizes and a raffle. Guest speakers are soon to be announced.
Tickets cost £10 if bought before 1 December/£12 in advance/£15 on the door.
