Stand up for Labour - Northampton
Stand up for Labour holds a fantastic fundraiser for Northampton South Labour Party.
Taking place at The Platform (George Row, Northampton NN1 1DF), the show features three of our favourite acts.
Opening act Steve Day is the country’s only deaf comedian and has been performing at the UK’s top comedy clubs for over 15 years. His mix of anecdotes and gags has made him a favourite of Stand up for Labour audiences in London, Tamworth, Wolverhampton, Leek, Stafford, Stoke, Birmingham, Burton, Mablethorpe, Corby, St Albans, Upton-upon-Severn, Swadlincote, Grimsby, Sheffield, Nottingham and Crewe.
Stockport housewife Barbara Nice has an infectious joie de vivre that has lightened up audiences all over the country and she now has her own sitcom on BBC radio. She is well known for appearing on TV shows 'Phoenix Nights', 'Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere' and 'Coronation Street'. Barbara has brought joy to Stand up for Labour events in Manchester, Birmingham, Southport, Coventry, Wolverhampton and Blackpool, where she also conducted the best Labour Party raffle ever!
Headline act Patrick Monahan is one of best live comedians on the circuit. He seems to have been born with a talent to judge any room he plays and his hilarious interactive comedy has gone down a storm at Stand up for Labour shows all over the country. Patrick won ITV1's 'Show me the Funny' competition and has since appeared on various TV shows. He is also a popular panto performer but he's not doing panto this year!
The evening is hosted by Crispin Flintoff, who set up Stand up for Labour in 2012 to raise money and morale in the party and has now organised over 250 shows all over England, Scotland and Wales.
There will also be liquid prizes and a raffle plus plenty of time to catch up with comrades.
